This app is meant to remove stuff from your mental load, not add to it. So we only ping you when it's actually important. That's why we give you 3 options for how you want those updates:
Mobile App (recommended) - Our mobile app will send a push notification.
Text Message (also great) - When a standard text message will do.
Email (not our favorite) - We'll do it. But you inbox is already pretty exhausted.
How Melo Notifications Work
Only when we really need to: You'll never get a notification if your family has nothing scheduled. Melo only sends updates when there are real events or tasks that need your attention.
Smart timing: Notifications arrive with enough time to prepare but not so early that you'll forget.
Choosing Your Notification Method
App Push Notifications - Most Popular Choice
Best for: Parents who care about the experience.
Why it works well:
Notifications link directly to relevant tasks and events in Melo
Cleaner phone experience (no extra text threads)
Easy to mark tasks complete right from the notification
Visual emojis and formatting look great
Text Messages (SMS)
Best for: Parents who don't mind getting linked to a mobile web page instead of an app.
Why parents love it:
No need to download another app
Can quickly forward to your partner or babysitter
Email Notifications (Default if No Phone Option Selected)
Best for: Parents who aren't quite sure about Melo yet. Once you feel like Melo is right for you, you'll want to go and select one of the mobile options.
What You WON'T Get Notifications About
Every email that arrives: Melo processes emails silently - you only hear about deadlines and events
Tasks already completed: If someone in your family already handled it, no reminder needed
Far-future events: No notifications about things happening months away
Low-priority updates: General school newsletters without specific deadlines

Note: If you choose 'app notifications' you must be on the app to choose it. If you choose text, you will be asked to provide a phone number.
